Little Rock Bible Study - THE GOSPEL OF LUKE…Thursday, January 10…

This year (Year C in the liturgical cycle) we primarily read the Gospel of Luke at Sunday mass. This gospel tells the story of Jesus of Nazareth as a mighty prophet and Savior of the world in fulfillment of Old Testament expectations. Luke also emphasizes Jesus as a person dedicated to prayer. He begins with Jesus' virginal conception and birth and follows Jesus through his public ministry to his passion, death, resurrection, and ascension into heaven—all under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Luke, along with Matthew and Mark, is one of the synoptic gospels.

This is an excellent introduction to bible study for those who have not yet attended one of our Little Rock Bible Studies! We begin this twelve-week Thursday evening bible study on Thursday, January 10 at 7:00 p.m. in the parish hall…registration is $30 per participant. All are welcome!

Confirmation Preparation Programme Begins!

Our Grade 7 Confirmation candidates’ preparation programme continues with their first Preparation Class on either Monday, January 14 at 7:00 p.m. OR on Wednesday, January 16 at 7:00 p.m. Attendance is mandatory for all candidates.

Any older youth or adults wishing to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation in May 2019 are asked to contact Fr. Charles as soon as possible.

Parish Evening of Reflection 2019… A Journey Worth Taking…Finding God in the Terror of 911

On Thursday, January 24 women and men of the parish are invited to an Evening of Reflection with Susan Gonz. Susan’s successful, fast-paced corporate life came crashing down when she met Jesus in the rubble of the terror attack on the Twin Towers - a moment that changed everything. Today Susan tells her own story of transformation and growth by putting God first. During these years she has developed a deep, personal friendship with God and found her voice and dignity as a woman of faith.

We will begin at 6:30 p.m. with a glass or wine or beer and pasta dinner, dessert and coffee, followed by a talk by Susan and time for questions and answers. Tickets are $15 per person are available this after mass in the parish office.

We also ask that you bring a donation in support of the Hope for Haiti Project at St. Mark’s Catholic Elementary School in our parish. The items are listed on the back of your ticket and include soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste and other toiletries. Thank you for your support!
